Mission Statement:
Coordinates activities involved with procuring and scheduling components, parts and sub-assemblies for production. Reviews requirements and prepares purchase orders for procurement. Tracks and reports and takes actions to improve on-time delivery and monthly PPV savings.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
- Updates Bills of Materials and routing information in the Syspro system from revisions received via ECR’s and/or marked work orders from production personnel, approved by an Engineer.
Reprints structured Bill of Materials, verifies changes and files in appropriate locations.
Confers with suppliers to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.
Compares prices and delivery dates and places orders with approved suppliers.
Selects products for purchase by reviewing MRP reports and/or inventory requirements and determining if materials on hand and on order for predetermined components or material are in sufficient quantity.
Orders supplies as needed.
Approves supplier invoices for payment
Tracks, reports and takes actions to improve on monthly PPV's
Tracks, updates, and communicates supplier's on-time delivery monthly.
Reviews component availability and acknowledges customer orders to customer service representative
Analyzes and dispositions nonconforming components
Liaison between supplier and engineer

Competence required:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); twelve months or more or related experience or training.
- Ability to read engineering documents. Computer entry skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and assembly procedures. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and to fill out forms and standard reports. Must also have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to production, engineering and materials management personnel.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or mechanical drawing form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to work with and/or train co-workers.
