Mission Statement:
Ø   Assure customer satisfaction and minimize HED® development costs by accurately and efficiently translating customer application requirements into functional and design engineering specifications.
Ø   Support compliance to HED® New Product Development and Engineering Change Processes.
Ø   Support continuous improvement, component obsolescence, and customer driven projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
 
Ø   Lead implementation of changes to current products as well as new releases.
Ø   Lead Transition of electronics products to production.
Ø   Maintain Engineering Change Notices (ECN) for assigned products.
Ø   Provide technical assistance and act as liaison between Engineering, Business Development and the end Customer.
Ø   Track prototype orders through HED internal process to assure proper specification and on-time delivery.
Ø   Use computer software tools to perform engineering tasks, including project scheduling, resource assignment and leveling. 
Ø   Support production and sustaining engineering efforts for assigned products.
Ø   Act as primary engineering contact for assigned products.
Ø   Ensure and maintain proper product documentation including Technical data sheets, User manuals, Bills of Materials (BOM), Product Specifications, Procurement Specifications, Product Test Plans (DVP&R), Environmental Testing Requirements, Production Testing Requirements.
Ø   Continuously improve products and processes.
Ø   Participate/Contribute and suggest product cost reduction initiatives.
Ø   If necessary, will travel to the customer’s site, to commission and/or troubleshoot products. This may involve travel by plane and/or automobile, and may include overnight stays.
Ø   Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.     
Technical skills /
Competence required:
Ø   College degree, preferably BSEE
Ø   2 or more years experience in an engineering role.
Ø   Detail oriented.
Ø   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with customers in a customer service role.
Ø   Strong leadership qualities and a demonstrated capability to influence others and excel in a matrix environment is a must.
Relationships:
Ø   Works with Engineering, Operations, Customer Service, and Sales Management to coordinate and prioritize new product development, continuous improvement, component obsolescense, and customer driven projects.
